Beauty Shots

As we get closer to actually renting this place out, I've been trying to take more pics for marketing purposes...

(That's the ladder I climbed up to take a bunch of pics that didn't turn out so good. Because the grade falls off so quick below the house, climbing to the top of this 24' ladder barely brings me level with the deck, but it's the only way to get a picture of the front of the house. Don't tell Sarah I was up there...)

Those shots are brilliant, I love the one of the Eames against the windows. About the windows- now that it (appears) to be cold out, have you had much wind down there? Do you feel that the rooms are colder around the windows, or do they seem well-sealed from the factory?

Thanks Ben. I have to confess that I don't really know what to expect out of the windows/sliders in terms of keeping the heat in and the cold out - by that I mean I don't know what the baseline is for how nice new glazing should behave. I'll say this: I have been relying a lot on the radiant in the basement for heat and not running the forced air heat upstairs. When I do that and it's real cold out (20s, etc), I'm not able to maintain a temperature upstairs. Now I don't know if I should be able to or not. It doesn't feel particularly drafty, though when I sit over by the windows I can certainly feel that it's colder there than it is in the middle of the room.

When I do run the heat upstairs, it's toasty warm pretty quick. But the heat is clicking on pretty frequently, so I suppose that means I'm having some heat loss. Like I said, I wish I could speak with more knowledge about how efficient the house is behaving, but I just don't know...
