We really are getting close to done with the upstairs. A couple of nits left here and there, but not much. I put in the pendant light (CB2, $49) over the dining room table when I was out dropping off some stuff. We were surprised when it came to find that it had a twenty foot long cord with a switch, and was intended to be plugged into an outlet. So I bought the mounting hardware myself (standard Home Depot cover plates were all pretty terrible), snipped the cord and hardwired it (Simplex had installed a junction box above the table). Looks pretty good:

We have a very similar lamp from EQ3, but I think I like yours better! And we paid a lot more, too:

Ours came prepared for hardwiring, but the cord was too short for us. The box is centered in the space, but our arrangement of furniture has the dining table offset, so I bought a longer cord and rewired the fixture so we could put it where it needs to be. That was an unexpectedly difficult project. As I've noted before, you just never can tell.
This one has a pretty visible joint where the cloth laps on itself (you can just make it out on the right edge of the lampshade). You get what you pay for, right?
I'm worried we're also going to have to "adjust" the location - exactly like you said, it's centered, but our table might get pushed closer to the sliders. We'll see...
I am so thrilled to see this site. For some reason, I have missed it until now. I love RE4 and all of their projects, and I want to be a test visitor for sure!!
